EMW and Laurence et Rémi Dufaitre signed an exclusive Distribution Agreement for Greater China
Shanghai, June 8th, 2021 - East Meets West Fine Wines (Shanghai) Limited (EMW) and Laurence et Rémi Dufaitre, an organic domaine of Beaujolais, France, signed an exclusive Distribution Agreement for Greater China, including Hong Kong & Macau.
Laurence et Rémi Dufaitre started their vineyard in 2001 in Saint-Étienne-des-Oullières, on the right bank of the Saône River. Since then, they went from 5 to 12 hectares.
Their approach was inspired by Jules Chauvet, the winemaker, chemist and incredible taster, who wanted a return to traditional methods to make lighter and more aromatic wines.

East Meets West Fine Wines and Domaine La Grange Tiphaine Sign an Exclusive Distribution Agreement for Greater China
Shanghai, June 1st, 2021 – East Meets West Fine Wines (Shanghai) Limited (EMW) and Domaine La Grange Tiphaine, an organic domaine of Loire, France, signed an exclusive Distribution Agreement for Greater China, including Hong Kong & Macau.
The Story: To Taste Nature
For this fully organic estate, run by Coralie and Damien Delecheneau since 2002, the keyword is 'respect': respect for the soil, for nature, for historical techniques and a demanding fruit. Domaine de la Grange Tiphaine has 10 hectares of vines across two terroirs: Montlouis-sur-Loire and Touraine-Amboise. It was created at the end of the 19th century by Alfonse Delecheneau and has stayed in family hands ever since:
“To taste these wines is to truly taste nature.”
Owner: Damien & Coralie
Damien is the fifth generation to work this land. He took over from his father, growing grapes in Montlouis-sur-Loire and Amboise. After two decades he now crafts nearly a dozen award-winning wines that evoke the terroir in its purest sense. Damien has a rare, scientific approach to natural winemaking, from the hands-off approach in the vineyard to the low technology design of the winery.
The Place: France, Loire
The Delecheneau family grow five varieties of grape: Chenin Blanc, Malbec, Gamay, Cabernet Franc and Grolleau. Many of the vines are over 100 years old. All of these factors make for balanced, elegant and precise white and sparkling.
The domain obtained AB (Ecocert) certification in 2007 and Biodynamic (Biodyvin) in 2014.
About La Grange Tiphaine
La Grange Tiphaine was created at the end of the 19th century by Alfonse Delecheneau, followed by three generations: Adrien, Jackie and now, Damien. He brings a level of scientific precision to natural winemaking that we haven’t seen in many others. As of 2008 Coralie, Damien’s wife, joined the family as a fully active partner in the life and work of their 15-hectare vineyard. The wines are in the AOCs of Touraine-Amboise and Montlouis-sur-Loire and are all different, but they all share the common thread of careful work in the vines that make for beautifully balanced, terroir driven, precise wines.

East Meets West Fine Wines and Bodega Otronia Start a Brand New Distribution Partnership in Hong Kong and Macau Markets
Shanghai, July 23rd, 2021 – East Meets West Fine Wines (Shanghai) Limited (EMW) is delighted to announce being appointed the exclusive distribution partner with Bodega Otronia in Hong Kong and Macau, China.
Otronia is a unique project with terroir wines located in the south of the Chubut Province, Argentina, which has been under wraps for 10 years. Driven by the constant search to explore nature and discover superior quality, the Argentine businessman Alejandro Bulgheroni, the founder of Otronia, stays true to his dream to create a collection of excellent wineries located in the premier wine regions of the world and build a portfolio of wines with great identity, personality and reflecting its origins in each product.
The wines of Otronia are products of excellence, produced with great ageing potential and destined to position themselves at the high-end local and international market, in countries such as the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Sweden, the United States, Brazil and Uruguay. The southern and extreme climatic conditions of this region means that wine production is limited.
Olivier Six, COO, EMW Fine Wines
“Mr. Bulgheroni’s passion for wines, together with his desire to develop the potential of new soils, pushing the limit of what’s possible, motivated the creation of Otronia. Today, with the help of Otronia, a new wine growing region has been born in Argentina. EMW, as a fast growing and a leading fine wine importer in Greater China, is delighted to collaborate with the new pioneer winery, and we’re more than excited to share with our clients the successful innovation of wines from extreme Patagonia.”
Otronia Winery Team
“It is an honor to announce our new partnership with EMW. We are excited to start the cooperation with such a professional and dedicated team, which has built their reputation in Asia over the years. Certainly we will use the same passion of doing wines to collaborate and stand together. We truly believe that we will make a success with Otronia wines within Hong Kong and Macau markets, where wine business is well developed and very dynamic. Look forward to introducing Otronia wines to Hong Kong and Macau wine lovers and connoisseurs.”

East Meets West Fine Wines and TANAKA 1789 X CHARTIER Luxury Sake Sign an Exclusive Import and Distribution Agreement for Hong Kong and Macau
Shanghai, 1st July, 2021 – East Meets West Fine Wines (Shanghai) Limited (EMW) and TANAKA 1789 X CHARTIER Sake Brand, from Tanaka Brewery founded in 1789 in Miyagi Prefecture, signed an exclusive Import and Distribution Agreement for Hong Kong and Macau, China.
The New Art of Sake Blending
François Chartier, the Canadian-born aroma specialist and world-famous sommelier, was surprised to learn in early 2017 that as it is with Champagne, great wines, whiskies, sherries and port, the idea of blending has never been part of Japan’s sake culture. He wanted to change that. Meanwhile, the elegance, freshness and vivid acidity of some fine white wines (like those from Burgundy and the Loire Valley) also inspired Chartier. He believed sake can resemble those wine styles, without compromising its original soul.
So François Chartier came to the concept of the “The new art of sake blending” inspired by his science of molecular harmonies, which allowed him to make new handcrafted sakes using a blending method that augments, magnifies, and multiplies sakes through the magical skill of a “master blender” like Chartier. The result has been the birth of a revolutionary new line of sakes, TANAKA 1789 X CHARTIER.
Gregory Bielot, Managing Partner, EMW Fine Wines
“After talking to François Chartier, I became very interested in both brand concept and the product. It is such a nice sake that combines the traditional Japanese brewing method with modern aroma molecular science: literally sake for wine lovers! I believe that our two teams working together will bring a sake blending revolution to the market.”
François Chartier, Founder, TANAKA 1789 X CHARTIER Sake
“Thanks EMW for the trust in our TANAKA 1789 X CHARTIER sake project, which is on an incredible momentum since its launch, especially since the beginning of 2021. Thanks to the opening of several new markets, including yours now. Your vision of the wine and sake world fits perfectly with our desire to collaborate with high level importers/distributors, having a great knowledge of the high-end wine and sake, as well as the luxury restaurant and hotel market. I know that this collaboration between EMW & TANAKA 1789 X CHARTIER will be fruitful. As I always say to summarize my aromatic science: 1+1=3.”
About TANAKA 1789 X CHARTIER
In 2017, Canadian-born aroma specialist François Chartier developed TANAKA 1789 X CHARTIER’s first vintage project of Blend 001, thus creating “The new art of sake blending” in Japan and revolutionizing the production of Japanese sakes, using the principle of blending, as with grand crus wines from Bordeaux, or as it is the case with champagnes, sherry, ports, cognac and whiskies. He obtains a variety of different base sakes to be used in his innovative blending process, and each blend is different in texture, flavor, color and, of course, aroma: making room for individuality.
