East Meets West Fine Wines Signs a New Distribution Partnership in Mainland China with Xige Estate
Shanghai, January 18th, 2022 – East Meets West Fine Wines (Shanghai) Limited (EMW) and Xige Estate, a winery in Ningxia, China, signed an exclusive on-trade distribution agreement for Mainland China.
Xige Estate, located in Gezi Mountain sub-region of Helan Mountain, Ningxia, was founded by Zhang Yanzhi in 2017. Over the past four years, it has won over 90 international wine awards and high scores from well-known wine critics, including a 94-point from Robert Parker team, which is a fairly high score on Chinese wines at that time, on Xige Estate Red Wine 2017. In 2020, they scored 90 points or more for over 95% of Xige wines.
Since its establishment, Xige has always followed its philosophy of making a good wine to express Ningxia terroir, focusing on decoding the relationship between terroirs and grape varieties to unlock the most potential of wine representative of the region. Xige believes the authenticity of the local terroir allows grapes to truly express their characters, and Chinese wineries ought to produce wines that represent distinctive Chinese terroirs.

30 December, 2021 - We are proud to announce that Mutsu-Hassen took the crown of the 2021 World Sakagura Ranking in December!
The World Sakagura Ranking highlights the highly-acclaimed breweries at sake competitions all over the world along with their noted brands. It is a point of reference to all the sake lovers in search of their favorite sakes.
The ranking point is based on the performance of the breweries at the six major sake competitions in 2021. The more awards the brewery won, the more points it is awarded.
With 1,255 points, in 2021 Mutsu-Hassen ranked FIRST among 643 breweries and 2,044 sakes submitted to the ranking.

The World Sakagura ("brewery" in Japanese) Ranking assigns points to each sake brewery based on their results in worldwide sake contests every year.
