Vietti

VT

The history of the Vietti winery traces its roots back to the 19th Century, created by Mario Vietti. Only at the beginning of the 20th century, however, did the Vietti name become a winery offering its own wines in bottle. With 35 hectares of vineyards, Vietti expects to not only increase production, but having greater control over the vineyards from a qualitative perspective.  Currado began making wine at the Vietti winery in 1960, following the death of his father-in-law Mario Vietti. Currado was one of the first Barolo winemakers to focus on single-vineyard wines. In the 1970s, Currado launched a series of artist labels that helped to redefine Barolo as a world-class appellation.

Silver Oak Cellars was founded by the Duncan family with a dedication to produce only one wine, Cabernet Sauvignon. They have been steadfast to this commitment since 1972. Twomey Cellars was then established in 1999. The winery was found to explore and make the high-quality varieties other than Cabernet Sauvignon in California. Since 2012, Twomey has retained world-renowned consulting winemaker Jean-Claude Berrouet, the former winemaker at Château Petrus and the world’s standard-bearer for Merlot. Berrouet’s Right Bank touch is resulting in some of the finest Twomey Merlot ever, which was recognized as “One of the best California Merlot” by the Drinks Business.

John Duval
Barossa/Australia

JD

John Duval Wines is a premium wine producer located in the Barossa Valley. After 29 years as a winemaker with Penfolds, John Duval established his eponymous brand in 2003 and has created a range of wines under the family owned John Duval Wines label. Utilizing old vine Barossa fruit, the wines express the terroir of the Barossa and the hand-crafted attention of John Duval. A great thing for the Barossa is that we have the oldest vineyards in the world of Shiraz, Grenache and Mourvedre. Some of the vineyards I use of Grenache and Mourvedre are over 100 years old. We have no phylloxera in the Barossa, and indeed South Australia,  so all these old vineyards are planted on their own roots.

Casa Ferreirinha
Douro DOC, Portugal

CF

A benchmark for Douro DOC wines

Casa Ferreirinha is the house with the greatest historical weight in the Douro, dating back to the eighteenth century founded by Bernardo Ferreira, whose formula was refined by his descendants, especially his granddaughter Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira, known affectionately as "Ferreirinha".

It was in the year 1952 that the iconic Barca Velha was created, inspired by the grapes used in the production of the company’s great Vintage ports.
Casa Ferreirinha thus became the first port wine company to produce quality dry wines in the region. This was to shape in a significant way the future of Portuguese wines.

Today, Barca Velha is known as one of the greatest names to come from Portugal and Casa Ferreirinha as a whole is the undisputed leader in the Douro DOC wines category.

After an extensive research for new terroir in the end of the 1990s, Michel Chapoutier, the famed Northern Rhône producer decided to locate Domaine de Bila-Haut in Côtes du Roussillon. Historically the site was one of the first areas planted for viticulture by the Greek Mariners and has been continuously a wine region known for making top quality wines. Roussillon offers many great opportunities including the ideal vine-growing climate and a rich geological background with incredible soil diversity ranging. The Roussillon was bound to attract Michel Chapoutier’s attention.

M. Chapoutier Bila-Haut 莎普蒂尔贝岚讴

The Domaine comprises 75 hectares of land cultivated, and is characterized by steep pebbly slopes rising from almost 150 meters above sea level. 40+ year old vines are carefully and meticulously managed by an experienced team of viticulturalists, where sustainable farming and low yields combine to create the highest quality fruit. Domaine de Bila-Haut has gained world’s wine critics’ attention and international  reputation since its presence. Les Vignes de BILA-HAUT Red has been chosen twice among Top 100 List by Wine Spectator in 2010 and in 2016.

"There are very few bad terriors, although there are many terriors that are misunderstood."  — Michel Chapoutier

 La Chablisienne

La Chablisienne, Burgundy, France

Chablis, half way between Paris and Beaune, forms the real gateway to Burgundy ’s treasure-house of wines. Since 1923 at Chablis in Burgundy, the meticulous care of the vine- growers working together under the banner of La Chablisienne has given birth to wines whose magnificence is amplified by the passage of time. These wines, coming from a mosaic of "climats", or vineyard plots, provide a pallet of emotions marked with a truly mineral touch

The winery groups nearly 300 winegrowers to produce the great white wines of Chablis. These wines reflect the utmost care the winegrowers devote to the cultivation of their vineyards and the commitment the winemakers bring to revealing the heart and soul of the wines. It is this subtle harmony between the grower in the vineyards, the technical advisor and the winemaker, which bestows on wines their much sought- after distinction.
